About Me

I co-create a world of belonging and safety by compassionately honoring all parts of myself, others, and The Universe.

My

Story

Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated by movement, nature and the human experience. Most of my time was spent outside playing sports, walking through creeks and finding resonance with humans and animals. I was a clumsy kid, sustaining many injuries throughout my childhood and became more amazed by the body as it healed over and over. In high school, I had the privilege of beginning a job at a veterinary clinic. What a blessing it was to be with and support animals and their families in their health. I began to cherish and feel the profound healing that physical and energetic touch/presence can offer. I am beyond grateful for the 5 years spent in exam and operating rooms listening and learning.

Part way through my time at the clinic, I was diagnosed with a spinal infection during college which changed my life and body forever. It felt like an awakening of sorts. The experience slowed me way down, providing me the space and challenge to honor the speed of my body's healing process. I began to ask my body and spirit on a deeper level, "What do you need"?. The answer led me to a big investment in Yoga and Bodywork which provided the building blocks for my journey to a pain-free, strong and flexible spine and eventually, to my profession.

In my last year of college, I leaned into the kinesiology world as a Personal Trainer and Exercise Instructor. Later in the year, i journeyed to Kripalu Yoga Center in Massachusetts for a month of deepening my experience of yoga, the body and community. I started teaching yoga in 2013 around the same time I graduated from Salisbury University. At this point I was beginning to feel like I "had my body back" and could explore new modalities and community. I heard of 5 Rhythms and Ecstatic Dance. These communities offered me a space of belonging and a practice of Dance Therapy that allowed me to bring confidence and deeper awareness to the movements my body and spirit ultimately wanted to feel freedom in. Ten years later, I continue to peel back layer after layer on the dance floor. Dance has become one of my most cherished practices.

As I found more freedom in my body, mind and spirit, I craved expanding in experiential learning and began to travel more. I drove cross country, camping in 20 national parks, traveled to Europe, and ended up in Thailand in 2017 for 4 weeks of learning Thai massage. What a beautiful practice! That same year, I invested in a 7 month Massage Therapy program at Central Maryland school of massage. It proved to be a year of deepening my practice with touch. I continue to have a deep passion for the healing power of touch which began with the vet Clinic. During this chapter of my life, I was drawn to acro yoga, contact improvisation and circus arts. The communities I found myself in inspired a joyful and curious approach to movement. This approach feels very aligned with who I am and my intention within teaching and practicing movement and healing arts.

It has become more and more clear how important community is to my life. Spending time in groups with intentions around connection and healing have grown to be a big part of where I spend my time. In 2014, I participated in a men's training with The Mankind Project, called the New Warrior Training Adventure. I felt a profound transformation in myself as I was safely challenged to breathe into the human that I wanted to be and faced shadows that were driving me. The weekend and years spent in a deeply loving mens group supported me in developing vision around my personal mission. My mission has simplified to, "I co-create a world of belonging and safety by compassionately honoring all parts of myself, others, and the universe". As I continue to embody this mission, I bring an energy of inclusion and cohesion into Mens groups, dance communities and have aspirations to explore new ways of holding space within community for deepened connection.

In 2019, I took deeper interest in breathwork. After being a part of The Awakening Course at Inspiration Conciousness School, I have had a consistent practice of receiving breathwork sessions since. Through my study of somatics and breathwork, my curiosity continues to blossom.

Most recently, I have continued my education in trauma informed somatic tools. In January 2020, I began the Alchemical Alignment Training with Brigit Viksnins. The learnings and community have greatly informed my body and presence as a human and practitioner. I have taken a deeper dive into nervous system regulation, concepts within craniosacral therapy, somatic experiencing, and aikido (Japanese Martial Art) among other modalities which are drawn from in AA. I have had the privilege of being an assistant in modules that are currently underway ( "Modules 8 - 14: Somatic Death Imprints in Life, and in Birth). As I learn more about myself and others through intentional presence, I feel a sense of awe at what is possible.

I feel deep gratitude for these practices I have found and my path of healing/exploration, which has evolved and continues to daily. My life, and witnessing others is a true blessing.
